Time Management During The Holidays
Holidays are here!!
During college and even before I worked in the restaurants, this meant working when you were sick, during the holidays and birthdays. This meant explaining to loved ones, that again you could not come. This lifestyle became very stressful, exhausting, and overall I was just not happy. Things needed to change.
For some of us we are bouncing around from one event to the next. Maybe we are the ones hosting the events. I want you to think about the to-do list you have going on for the holidays and everything in between.
Now I want you to ask yourself the following:
Do I have to do this all?Is there something I can take off?
Can I delegate something? What do I need to prioritize? ( YES you, are you on your list?)
Have I implemented boundaries AND communicated to others what I need?
Have you said yes to all the above?
For us to be there for others we need to be there for ourselves. We need to ask ourselves the above checklist. When we do it ALL, how present, involved and focused are you really in the moment? When you child opens their gifts Christmas morning, I want you to focus on where your mind is at. Has your mind drifted into the today list? Are you more focused on the what you cannot control say things that have already happened or possible things that could happen.
This year give yourself and family the gift of you, by showing up for yourself, create boundaries, and communication. YOU GOT THIS!
